Wanted

Sat Jun 28, 2008, 6:32 PM
Watched "Wanted" today with the whole family (yes, even with the 5 year-old). Sucked. Oh fine there was this one hot part. Tattoos are hot. :giggle: Oh and I thoroughly enjoyed it when the guy broke the keyboard in half against his best friend's face and they slow-mo'd it to show that one of the guy's molars was knocked off from the force of the impact. I'd like to do that too if my so-called "best friend" was sleeping with my girlfriend (err, boyfriend???) and doing everything they can, other than saying it in front of your face, to let you know what exactly they're doing when you're not home.

Overall though, it was overkill. Dropped the f-bomb too many times, too much blood but not enough graphic detail (PEOPLE WHERE IS THE BRAIN MATTER?), and not enough subtext. Sure there was blatant smex, I mean, there's this one scene with the whore... err, "girlfriend", and the best friend. But that was it. Oh and Angelina Jolie kisses the guy twice to make the ex-girlfriend jealous and be all "in-your-face"-y but it wasn't... hot?

You know what? Wait. Overkill. Haha. Overkill. Get it? Movie with assassins??? Bah, never mind. I wanted to watch Kung-fu Panda but noooo....

Anyway we're going to have another "family day" tomorrow because it's my parents' anniversary (and my dad's b-day is on monday). I'm not looking forward to it. Though, not for the very same reason most angst-ridden teenagers do because I love hanging out with my parents (no lie); I dun wanna go my mom's sick (GASP because I don't remember her EVER being sick). So she's all having-trouble-talking-y and body pains and stuff.

Is Kung-Fu Panda still in theaters? Cause I can probably go this week and i actually have money in addition to having those theater ticket things (so I can buy food).

I can't believe you'd want to watch Kung Fu Panda. It sounds like the dumbest thing ever thought up.

Yeah, "wanted" is SO the family movie...

well you do realize you'd probably need a degree and stuff to work in animations. also, i'm pretty sure you need a degree to get the job of writing, drawing, and whatever else is needed for the cartoon if it's like some big film company or whatever. ergo, while the movie is aimed at a younger audience (or so most assume because it is "cartoons"), there will be some witty banter, allusions, and other stuff that older people could relate to simply because professionals are doing it (and also because these adults will be bringing their kids so the least they could do is also be somewhat entertained). also, the casting seems interesting, sure there's jack black, but there's angelina jolie, jackie chan, lucy liu and some other famous people.

"wanted", on the other hand, well i guess you need professionals too but they really don't have to think much because i'm pretty sure that simply throwing in violence, a sex scene, drugs, and some swear words make it a "good movie".

anyway, my brother's pretty mature for his age. granted, he still throws tantrums and can't talk right but he pretty much gets the concept of "don't do/say what they're doing". he's pretty brave too, he saw alien vs. predator 2 with us a while back. of course, when we watched hancock today, he pretty much wanted to just play his psp.

My point was that the plot of Kung Fu Panda seems somewhat...unintelligent...

Also, the humor of those kids' movies is so base and full of toilet jokes and crude stuff like that that I wouldn't want to bear watching it!

?
ah. well yeah. -scratches head- it still has jackie chan. that makes up for everything.
